2024 Summer Recap

This past summer season turned out to be Spike Up Athletics' most successful since the club formed in 2019. The season started with 52 athletes joining the club, which exceeded our previous high of 41 athletes from the previous summer season. From there, the club went on to see 27 of 36 athletes who competed at the USATF Region 11 Championships in Missoula, Montana, qualify for the 2024 USATF National Junior Olympics (NJO). Athletes who qualified for the NJOs were:

  • Titus Harris - 100m, 200m, and High Jump

  • Louis Solosabal - 100m and High Jump

  • Uluaifiu Tinoifili - 100m, 200m, and 4 x 100m relay

  • Jacob Mouser - 100m, 200m, 400m, Long Jump, Triple Jump, and 4 x 100 relay

  • Tyler Bird - 100m and 200m

  • Dawson Mann - 200m, 400m, and 4 x 100m relay

  • Jade Anderson - 400m and 4 x 100m relay

  • Jakobe Davis - 400m and 4 x 100m relay

  • Everett Metier - 800m, 1500m, and 3000m

  • Karson Bates - 3000m and 2K Steeplechase

  • Jacob Salinas - 80m hurdles

  • Rylan Wilson - 100m hurdles and 200m hurdles

  • Trevor Armitage - Shot Put

  • Elliot Linker - Javelin

  • Eagan Nelson - High Jump

  • Isaac Hall - Triple Jump

  • Kody Biggs - Hammer Throw

  • Ivy Haynes - 100m

  • Alexa Linker - 100m, 400m, and Long Jump

  • Lilly Eagy - 100m, 200m, 200m hurdles, and Long Jump

  • Sophia Krzemien - 800m, 1500m, and 2K Steeplechase

  • Scarlett Albert - 100m hurdles and 200m hurdles

  • Simone Brown - 100m hurdles and 200m hurdles

  • Eleanor Armitage - Shot Put and Discus

  • Addison Thayer - Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, and Hammer

  • Joey Prescott - Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, and Hammer

  • Grace Clark - Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, and Hammer

  • Brinna Nelson - Long Jump and Triple Jump


This season, the NJOs were held in College Station, Texas on the campus of Texas A&M University. 17 of the 27 athletes who qualified for the NJOs decided to go and test themselves against the nation's best athletes, which was the largest group of athletes we've ever had compete on the national stage. Athletes who competed and their placement/competitors rankings were:

  • Karson Bates - 2k Steeplchase (25/38) and a new PR; 3000m (36/40)

  • Kody Biggs - Hammer (23/46)

  • Jakobe Davis - 400m (44/62); 4 x 100mR (25/39)

  • Isaac Hall - Triple Jump (41/47)

  • Elliot Linker - Javelin (55/55)

  • Dawson Mann - 200m (55/60); 400m (54/62) and a new PR; 4 x 100mR (25/39)

  • Everett Metier - 3000m (1/41), National Champion, All-American, and a new PR

  • Jacob Mouser - 100m (54/63) and a new PR; Long Jump (41/50); Triple Jump (37/47 and a new PR; 4 x 100mR (25/39)

  • Uluaifiu Tinoifili - 100m (44/63); 200m (48/60); 4 x 100mR (25/39)

  • Scarlett Albert - 100mH (32/52) and a new PR; 200mH (37/55) and a new PR

  • Eleanor Armitage - Shot Put (26/59); Discus (44/55)

  • Grace Clark - Javelin (17/32); Discus (43/50); and Shot Put (32/48) and a new PR

  • Sophia Krezemien - 800m (24/34); 1500m (10/38) a top 1/3 finish; 2k Steeplchase (4/19), 4th place, All-American

  • Alexa Linker - 100m (53/64); 400m (37/52) and a new PR; Long Jump (17/48)

  • Brinna Nelson - Long Jump (56/61) and Triple Jump (50/54)

  • Joey Prescott - Javelin (38/50); Discus (41/55); Shot Put (54/59); and Hammer (26/31)

  • Addison Thayer - Hammer (21/31) and a new PR; Shot Put (24/59) and a new PR; Discus (49/55)






Everett Metier became Spike Up Athletics' 1st National Champion and 7th all-American in team history.






Sophia Krzemien became our 6th all-American in team history, and she also became Spike Up Athletics' most decorated athlete for USATF-sanctioned events due to becoming our 2nd all-American at the 2022 USATF NJOs, and 4th all-American at the 2023 NJOs.
